MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission & Vision
Landmark Engineering & Design, LLC (LED) is committed to providing exceptional value-based engineering solutions and complete design services to private entities, institutions, and public municipalities with a focus on sustainable land development, comprehensive project management, and the responsible use of Vermont’s precious natural resources.
Our Engineers
Established in 2021, the two company principals Elias J. Erwin, VT Licensed Designer and Jamie L. Simpson, VT Licensed Professional Engineer, formed Landmark Engineering & Design, LLC after several years of success working for other engineering firms and State agencies.
Elias and Jamie are local to Addison County. They have extensive experience working on numerous Vermont-based projects, with a strong understanding of State Rules and Municipal Regulations. As a result, they provide their clients with an accurate project perspective, define the permitting requirements, and provide the necessary engineering and design solutions. After working for several engineering firms and State agencies, it was time to forge a new path on their own.
CO-OWNER
Elias J. Erwin, Licensed Designer
Eli is originally from Bristol, Vermont and currently resides in Whiting. He has several professional certifications which include a Vermont Licensed Class BW Designer, Vermont Certified Class 3 Public Water System Operator and a Vermont Certified Public Manager. He is an OSHA Certified Hazardous Waste Operator and Emergency First Responder and serves as an advisor to the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office of Professional Regulation overseeing the professional conduct for all VT Licensed Water and Wastewater System Designers. He is a graduate of the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in resource conservation, and an associate degree in environmental science from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. Prior to forming LED, Elias served as a Regional Engineer for the VT Department of Environmental Conservation.

Jamie L. Simpson, Licensed Professional Engineer
Jamie is originally from Middlebury, Vermont where he settled with his family. His accreditations include being a Vermont Licensed Professional Engineer with a Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Soils Compliant certification. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and an associate degree in electrical engineering technology from Vermont Technical College. Prior to forming LED, Jamie was a Senior Project Engineer of Green Mountain Engineering, Inc.
